Applications are invited for the post of Lecturer in Criminology and Psychology in the Department of Law and Criminology. The Department of Law and Criminology is part of the School of Law and Social Sciences, alongside the Departments of Economics, Politics, International Relations and Philosophy, and Social Work. We are forward thinking, multidisciplinary and research active. We offer undergraduate programmes in Law, Criminology & Psychology and Criminology & Sociology, together with Masters programmes in Forensic Psychology, Consumption, Culture & Marketing, Policing and Criminal Justice, and Terrorism and Counter-Terrorism Studies. We are also home to an energetic postgraduate research student community.
We seek outstanding teachers and researchers to join our dynamic and multidisciplinary team. For this position, we are seeking to appoint someone with specific expertise in the quantitative study of violence, organized crime and informal governance. In alignment with the College’s research catalyst ‘Living Sustainably’, the Department of Law and Criminology is leading the development of an interdisciplinary research institute to promote the investigation of crime and power in the social context. We are now seeking to recruit a Lecturer with an active research interest and track record in the area, who is motivated to help grow the institute and contribute to the provision of education
This position includes teaching undergraduate quantitative research methods in criminology and psychology. We are also keen to develop our teaching portfolio and the ability to contribute to both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, including the supervision of doctoral students and the development of specialist options to reflect specific areas of expertise, is sought. Applicants should possess the broad range of skills needed to teach effectively. We also expect academic leadership and an effective contribution to programme or department administration or projects improving the student experience.
The post is available from August 2022 or soon thereafter and is based in Egham, Surrey where the College is situated in a beautiful, leafy campus near to Windsor Great Park and within commuting distance from London.
